The HST is a Strong Medicine for Our Economy

The worldwide economic recession hit Ontario hard. But we’re hitting right back with an aggressive plan to create new jobs and growth.

Part of that plan involves harmonizing the 5% federal GST and the 8% PST into a single, harmonized sales tax – the HST.

The HST will save employers billions of dollars so companies can invest in new equipment, machinery, and plants. This will create hundreds of thousands of new jobs.

But it is strong medicine. Some items will cost more for us as consumers. But we’re helping working families and those who need it most with tax cuts and transition cheques.

The HST may not be popular but its the right thing to do. Not just for today but for our children and grandchildren tomorrow.

Local Liberal social events and engagement

handsA key development that the KW Provincial Liberals will be focusing on is an enhanced social environment for Liberals in the local area. To do this, we will be participating in at least one community-based social event every month, starting in April. These events are free to attend and will involve some level of engagement in the community, and are intended to give local Liberals a fun, casual social atmosphere to interact in. Please stay tuned to the events page for upcoming events.
